Privacy Policy
MDG Boston – Privacy Statement
The Medical Development Group (MDG), a nonprofit corporation of professionals interested in medical devices and technologies, has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following policy, amended effective November 12, 2007, discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices for the organization and for its website (www.mdgboston.org). MDG pledges its best effort to implement and enforce all of the elements of this policy, but will assume no liability for inadvertent policy breaches.
Registration Forms
Our membership application form requires applicants to give us their name, address and email address. Other background and professional information is optional. Contact information from the registration form is used to enroll members into MDG. The information is used to disseminate information about our meetings, events, and other activities and for other administrative uses within the organization. Member data is not shared with any other organization of any sort, although we may distribute information supplied by other organizations that we believe our members will find valuable or informative about medical devices and technologies.
Membership Directory
The organization maintains a Membership Directory which is accessible only to members in non-machine readable form through our website. Members must opt in to or out of being included in our membership directory by making the appropriate selection on the membership form.
Event Attendance
Lists As a primary purpose of the organization is professional networking, it is our common practice for each of our sponsored events to make the registration list for the event, including professional contact information, available to attendees.
Choice/Opt-Out
Members may at any time change their preferences regarding receipt of email from the organization and having their names and email addresses in the membership directory by logging in to the Members-Only area of the website and selecting “My Profile.” Any information in the profile (or the entire profile) may be hidden from other members by checking the box under ‘Hidden.’ Event attendees may choose not to be included on the disseminated list of attendees for an event by so indicating at the event registration desk.
Appropriate Use
Personal contact information made available to members and/or event attendees under this policy is intended for individual professional networking purposes only. Other uses of this information, including “blast” Emailing, advertising, or solicitations of any kind, is strictly prohibited, and may result in the suspension of membership privileges.
