MDG Boston Officers and Board of Directors

2020 - 2022

Jeff Karg, MSME

Managing Director, Boston Innovation

Jeff’s professional experience encompasses technology development, entrepreneurship, and business leadership. He has been involved with MDG since 2012 because of its importance to the medical device development community and its dedication in serving its members first.

Jeff has demonstrated success in technology creation and product development in both startup and corporate environments.  He has been through multiple development and funding cycles and is expert in navigating complex projects with large teams.

Jeff has accumulated 23 client-owned patents in a wide range of products.  As CEO of his startup nAscent BioSciences, he led a small but amazing group developing drug discovery tools for pharmaceutical and biotech companies; nAscent was later sold to ThermoFisher Scientific.

Over his entire career, Jeff has contributed to corporations, consultancies, and startups, learning the advantage of working with talented teams and striving to bring them together to accomplish ambitious goals.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Jeff moved with his family to attend Stanford University for a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering on full scholarship from AT&T Bell Laboratories.  He currently leads product development for New View Surgical, a startup based in Boston.

MDG Boston has deep regional strength through membership, sponsor relations and educational forums.

As we move to accommodate the new reality of COVID-19, we will bring our remarkable Forums to the web. Our community will grow as more people see what we do.

CEO, a Co-Founder, and a Director of ONEighty C Technologies Corporation
Eric Walters has been a senior financial executive in both private and publicly-held medical device and health care companies for more than 20 years. He has raised more than $100M in capital.

At PolyMedica, he was EVP/CFO and a member of the original senior management team that grew a $1M medical device start-up company to $350M in profitable revenues, which later sold for $1.5B in cash when its revenues exceeded $675M. Mr. Walters has developed and managed high performance finance teams, has an extensive business network, possesses excellent strategy and execution skills, is experienced in budgeting and cost controls and is a proactive communicator with a wide range of audiences. He has managed investor relations for a publicly-held corporation with a $1B market capitalization.

He was formerly a Big Four auditor. ONEighty C Technologies owns WAVEPulseTM Sterilization, a proprietary and first-to-market high-performance sterilization process targeting deficiencies with existing systems in hospitals and other medical institutions. He is a co-founder of the New England Healthcare Executives Network (NEHEN) and is active in MassMEDIC.

This is an exciting time for MDG Boston. With our transition to Online Forums, we moved past the limitations of geography. MDG Boston now engages the global community of medical device innovators.
