Sunrise Labs, a rapidly growing leader in medical product development and recognized as the best company in NH to work for, is seeking a Director of Employee Experience. The successful candidate will be a member of the Sunrise Leadership Team and be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the Sunrise Employee Experience. This leader will help develop organization-wide skills, processes and systems to ensure every Sunrise employee is excited about their Sunrise experience and their contribution to Sunrise’s purpose of improving lives.

At Sunrise you will:

  • Develop a vision for the Sunrise Employee Experience by working with all groups of the organization and researching best practices and implement the vision with key deliverables and outcomes
  • Develop, measure, and communicate key Employee Experience metrics; evaluate our performance against industry benchmarks; and innovate and work with the Sunrise Leadership Team to develop strategies to close any gaps and to continuously improve Employee Experience performance
  • Research, innovate, deploy, and champion team management skills, tools and processes across Sunrise; and implement training programs for managers and independent contributors
  • Implement a best-in-class performance management & review system and continuously review and improve recognition programs across the organization
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across Sunrise as a key element of the Employee Experience
  • Lead the Sunrise Employee Experience Team, currently a staff of two+, to help implement and support the Sunrise Employee Experience
  • Work with Sunrise Team Leaders to identify critical skills needs and develop strategies to address these employee experience needs; and ensure mentoring is facilitated both within and across disciplines allowing for cross-discipline mobility
  • Drive and expand Sunrise’s recruiting processes and efforts to grow the Sunrise team by adding highly capable people that fit in Sunrise’s high-integrity high-respect culture
  • Establish relationships with key universities and community organizations to identify exceptional candidates for full time and internship opportunities
  • Proactively engage with the Sunrise team to ensure everyone feels connected to their team members and to Sunrise’s purpose; help new team members and new office locations integrate with all of Sunrise; and implement best practices to build, maintain, and enhance working relationships while operating in remote or hybrid remote environments.
  • Help design and implement optimized physical and digital environments to provide flexibility and achieve work-life balance
  • Coach as needed to resolve conflicts following Sunrise’s foundational principle of ‘assumption of positive intent’
  • Review and benchmark Sunrise’s benefits package and recommend changes using data from the Sunrise Employee Experience; manage Sunrise benefits suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and guidelines and provide guidance to the Sunrise Leadership Team on future changes
  • Work with the Sunrise Leadership team to advance community engagement and recommend volunteering efforts and charitable giving opportunities

We’ll look for:

  • A genuine passion for helping employees to thrive and a thirst for learning better ways to lead people
  • A BS or MS in a HR Management, a behavioral science, or similar fields
  • 10+ years experience leading people to achieve ambitious goals
  • Experience/exposure to Technical Professional Services, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing functions
  • Understanding of current and emerging human resources principles, practices, and processes
  • Comprehension of state and federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Knowledge of leadership, team building, and mentoring fundamentals
  • Great problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly resolve issues
  • Someone who will instill trust, build connections, and uphold our principle of assuming positive intent throughout Sunrise and our greater community
