Daniel Sands, MD, MPH
Internal Medicine Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Lahey Health
Dr. Sands will address unmet clinical needs in care settings that require immediate data and situations where turnaround times for central laboratory results are insufficient to deliver quality care. In addition, multiple data points are necessary to either build out longitudinal data, design care interventions, or arrive at real world evidence.

Dr. Sands is a board certified internist affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He earned his degrees from Brown University, Ohio State College of Medicine, Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Sands is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Medical Informatics. He is the also a co-founder of the Society for Participatory Medicine, of which he is currently the Board Chair.

Dr. Paraboschi oversees technology implementation for large research initiatives and clinical trials at Empatica. A Boston based company, Empatica has developed an FDA-cleared consumer wristband, called Embrace that monitors stress signals to help detect Generalized Tonic-Clonic (GTC) seizures and alert both wearers and caregivers.

Dr. Paraboschi helps research institutions and pharmaceutical companies reach their research and validation goals through the use of Empatica devices. His work addresses technology customization and deployment, training and logistics, and strategic planning. Prior to Empatica, his work encompassed research in telecommunication and smart mobility. Dr. Paraboschi holds a PhD in Innovation Management and a Master’s in Service Engineering.

As part of the HIT/Digital Health team, Dr. Pan has a particular focus in digital biomarkers spanning routine care and clinical trials. Health Advances is a strategy consulting firm that focuses exclusively on the healthcare industry operating at the intersection of science, technology, and business strategy. Health Advances is an independent operating unit of Parexel, a leading Contract Research Organization (CRO) providing preclinical research, clinical trials, and regulatory services.

Dr. Pan is a leading authority on digital health and serves as Health Advances' most senior project manager addressing innovation in digital health, devices, and biopharmaceuticals in the U.S., EU, and APAC. Dr. Pan holds a PhD in bioinformatics and MS in Computer Science from Dartmouth.
