Steven Colbert  
Engineering Manager, CardioFocus
Dr. Colbert works alongside R&D producing balloon catheters. Until July 2015, Dr. Colbert was the Engineering Manager and Head of R&D at Duralectra-CHN, an ISO 13485 certified anodizing facility. While in this role, he qualified a proprietary process to market to the medical device arena. From Jan 2009 to March 2014, Dr. Colbert was a Principal Process Engineer at Instrumentation Laboratory where he worked to modify and manufacture blood-gas analyzers that incorporated electrochemical and optical means of measurement. 

Dr. Colbert has eight years in the Medical Device vertical and a total of twenty-two years of experience in chemical engineering. His broad exposure to many different industries (consumer electronics, solar power, fuel cells, medical devices, and composites) gives him a unique perspective in approaching problems.

Keith Faucher, PhD
Director of Research and Analytical Chemistry, Getinge
Dr. Faucher has 14 years in R+D leadership roles in medical devices. He leads an interdisciplinary research group focused on new medical device feasibility research, test method development and validation, biocompatibility/pre-clinical science, extractable/leachable testing and supportive engineering. 

During the course of his career he has worked in several different medical device product areas including vascular, endovascular, cardiology, thoracic drainage and soft tissue repair. His work has resulted in numerous patents and scientific publications.

Currently, he is focused on increasing translational research throughput and managing technical innovations. Dr. Faucher has a BS in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Georgia and is currently taking courses towards his MBA. He performed his post-doctoral work in Biomedical Research and Engineering at Emory University School of Medicine.

Andrea Cahill
Electrical Engineer, Boston Scientific
Andrea is a recent addition to the Capital Systems Team in Urology and Pelvic Health R&D at Boston Scientific Corporation. She is an Electrical Engineer working on the integration of a minimally invasive treatment platform focused on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Prior to Boston Scientific, Andrea worked at Haemonetics Corporation developing a hemostasis management product - the TEGĀ® 6s. The TEG 6s system is a whole blood hemostasis analyzer that provides rapid, comprehensive and accurate identification of an individual's hemostasis condition in a laboratory or point of care setting. Andrea led the characterization efforts for new cartridges and assays.
 
Andrea currently serves on the Board of Directors for the MDG Boston and serves as Chair on the Board of Directors for the University of British Columbia Biomedical Engineering Student Team (UBC BEST). UBC BEST is an extracurricular engineering student design team focused on developing context appropriate medical technologies that address global unmet medical challenges.
 
Andrea received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

 

Lisa Sasso, MBA, CPCC, ACC - MODERATOR
Transitioned from the Retail Industry into the Medical Device Industry
Lisa is a past President of MDG and currently serves on its board, where she has served for over 12 years. She is also President & Executive Coach at Medical Development Partners, Inc. (2005-present) and Past Co-Founder, President/CEO of Radi Medical Systems, Inc. (1998-2004). 

As President/CEO of Radi Inc., she grew the company from inception to revenues of $28M with profitability. Currently, as an Executive Coach, Lisa empowers Medical Device leaders and executives to embrace their passion and achieve their personal and professional goals with confidence, accountability, balance and gratitude. Lisa was recognized and ranked #28 out of 100 women-led businesses in Massachusetts in 2004. 

She received a BBA in marketing and a BA in economics from the UMass. Her MBA is from Bentley University where she graduated with honors. Lisa's new book, Motivation Now! is available on Amazon. LSasso@MedDevCoach.com.
