Abstract

In this Hybrid Forum (in-person & online options), join us as two industry veterans, Josh Phillips, MBA, Catalyst Health Ventures, and Richard Anders, JD, Mass Medical Angels, share their insights on the current temperature and dynamics in the MedTech funding arena. They will provide funding advice for entrepreneurs and discuss how to communicate the benefits of your technology and address current investor perspectives.

Participation will be capped at 200 people, and food will be provided.

Josh Phillips has been a member of the Investment Committees of the general partners of CHV I and CHV II since 2008. He is actively involved in all aspects of fund management including investments and capital raising and has led CHV I and CHV II investments in the medical device, women’s health and molecular diagnostics markets.

He led CHV’s investments in Allegro Diagnostics (acq. by Veracyte), Vortex Medical (acq. by AngioDynamics), SevenOaks Biosystems (acq. by Medline), Sera Prognostics (NASD: SERA), Pavilion Medical, Cruzar Medsystems, Conformal Medical, Brixton Biosciences, EyeCool Therapeutics, Epitel. He is a Director of Sera Prognostics, Pavilion Medical, and Cruzar Medsystems, and a past Director of Saphena Medical, Allegro Diagnostics, Vortex Medical, SevenOaks Biosciences.

Richard Anders is the founder and Managing Director of Mass Medical Angels, a leading life-science angel group, a long-time entrepreneur and active investor.

He is currently Managing Director of Rubin/Anders Scientific, which places scientists as experts in litigations. For many years he taught life-science entrepreneurship at MIT, and earlier started the Science on Screen program and founded Jurisoft, a legal-software company which he sold to Lexis/Nexis.

.As the founder of MedTech Strategies, Ilsa Webeck works with companies on new technology initiatives focused on identifying value and actionable systems for growth. Her past roles include corporate planning, product management and early product strategy at Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Spine, Biogen and Health Advances. She is an invited lecturer for Harvard Catalyst and a member of the MDG Boston board.

Please click here for a detailed mapFor public transportation, take the Green Line E train to the Longwood Medical Area stop. From there, proceed down Longwood Avenue towards the hospitals for about 5 minutes to get to Harvard Medical School.

Parking: Harvard Medical School does not offer public parking, but public parking is available at various garages in the Longwood area (Parking at Boston Children’s Hospital or at Simmons are good options.) Please note availability at these garages can change pending the daily needs of the university. We do not validate parking.
