Abstract

Combining AI, 3D Printing, Wearables, and Telemedicine for Personalized

Joint Disorder Treatments for Better, More Cost Effective Outcomes

    Innovative entrepreneurs in the MSK field are driving major healthcare improvements with patient-specific, high-impact, cost efficient interventions delivered at scale.
    .
    Our panelists will explore their unique technology solutions and “in the trenches” approaches to improving operational and clinical efficiencies and outcomes across the entire musculoskeletal care spectrum. As the digital transformation of MSK medicine continues, this Forum addresses ground level challenges experienced by surgeons, ASCs, hospitals, and most importantly, patients.
    .
    Moderated by Dr. Benjamin Schwartz, an orthopedic surgeon, and healthcare technology and innovation advisor and investor, you will hear from:

    • Alessandra Toninelli of Rejoint on pre-op planning through AI, 3D printed personalized implants, computer aided surgery combined with 3D printed personalized instruments, sensorized wearables, and dedicated apps to connect patients and surgeons;
    • Peter T. Bianco of OsteoApp.ai on a proprietary, FDA cleared, cloud-based screening method to prevent debilitating bone fractures for early detection of osteoporosis using rapid automated analysis of standard X-rays that yield immediate, real time clinical results;
    • Rabeeh Majidi of OrthoKinetic Track on an AI-driven wearable device that tracks joint kinematics and muscle activity with remote data-sharing capacity for joint impairment monitoring. Machine trained system will track the patient compliance and improvement during rehabilitation and delivers telemedicine, at-home physical therapy and virtual MSK care to improve range of motion and optimize pain control.

    • .Jeff Bush of QMed Innovations will describe how QMed Innovations uses an autonomous cellular-IoT asset management device to collect temperature and location data and streamline orthopedic supply chains by leveraging machine learning and predictive analytics.
