Michael Drues

mdrues@mdgboston.org

Number of years as MDG member: Since 2002
Years in Medical Device/Technology Industry: 20+
Positions/Career path in Medical Device/Technology Industry: I’ve never been one to simply follow. If you’re following in someone else’s footsteps, you’ll never go anywhere new! As an internationally known expert and speaker on cutting-edge medical technology and regulatory strategy, I have consistently been ahead of the curve, often working in areas years (decades) before others, i.e., combination products, pharmacogenomics, tissue engineering and nanotechnology. Anyone can see a trend after there are a dozen data points. I try to see trends when there are just a few data points or before there is any data at all! Many would say this is impossible – but then, once many said the earth was flat!
